If anyone can tell me what I preached on
Sunday,
May 25th - I’d like to know.
If anyone was even there that Sunday - I’d like
to know.
Just as I was getting fitted up with my "Sunday
go to meetin’ clothes",
my dog, my female dog, my pregnant female
dog—ahhh
correction,
my formerly pregnant female dog began to exhibit
signs of labour.
Luckily the articles I read on whelping alerted
me to this condition.
This being the only time I’ve experienced labour
close-up.
When I arrived on Sunday morning my mind
wasn’t
where it needed to be - or maybe it was.
I arrived home,just in the nick of time, at 11:34
a.m.
I was present for the birth of all six, squeaky,
healthy puppies.
New life isn’t just taking place in my walk-in
closet,
in my den.
Like the plethora of colour that is presently
invading
our world at this time of year,
I see much other newness, growth and life around.
There are: new contacts in Africa; new ways of
being with one another; new friends;
new members to the church; new faces to get to
know; new people at the Loonie breakfasts;
new Music Director; new Summer Concert series;
new choir gowns; new tree;
new Sunday School curriculum; new lease on life
and people doing new things.
As all the points of the compass await us on
our
summer journeys,
I wish you safe travels and safe returns to our
community life.
Blessings and Peace,
Shaun
